You will receive updates on federal and state laws, lawsuits, and regulations related to pre-employment screening background checks.

To avoid bad hiring decisions, employers have increasingly turned to pre-employment background screening as a risk management tool. However, background checks are increasingly subject to litigation, legislation and regulation. This session will cover a number of laws, regulations and lawsuits, including the Fair Credit Reporting Act, discrimination and privacy laws, numerous state-specific rules, and the 2012 EEOC guidance on criminal records that has the potential to change the way employers hire.
