This session will provide you with an understanding of the characteristics of HR strategies that facilitate performance that will enable you to select strategies and programs that will work. 

Y2K... dot com bust...prosperity...2007 meltdown...recovery?  The environment has acted like a roller coaster and organizations have struggled to find sustainable HR strategies.  Fight talent wars... downsize... cut workforce costs while desparately seeking critical talent - vacillating targets have caused organizations to jump from one strategy to another.  HR strategies must be effective in a variety of possilble futures, making workforce planning and flexible execution critical elements of strategy.  Successful organizations view HR strategy formulation and execution as a continuous, dynamic process that is the responsibility of all managers, led by HR.  Staffing, development, performance and rewards management and employee relations strategies must be integrated with each other and must support the overall HR strategy.
