During this session, AARP will help you manage your succession planning by explaining what you can do to help your employees transition to retirement. After the session overview, there will be separate experts discussing in-depth specifics with respect to retirement finances and health, with an opportunity for participants to ask questions. This session will cover:

· Retirement Finances - What you can do to maximize the savings employees will have providing general financial and social security education and advice, and a demonstration of the AARP Retirement Savings Calculator

· Retirement Health - What you can do to help employees become and stay healthy now, and after they retire, including information on Medicare, long-term care, and caregiving. This section will include an explanation and use of the AARP Workplace Health Promotion Tool Kit for your employees.

Michael Herndon

Michael C. Herndon joined AARP as a Manager, Financial Security in August 2005 leading the Workforce and Consumer Issues team. Prior to joining AARP, Michael was Director, Public Affairs for Certified Financial Planner Board of Standards. Michael also served as Manager, Government Relations for the International Association for Financial Planning (IAFP). Michael earned a Bachelor’s Degree in Business Administration from the University of Tennessee and a Master of Public Administration from Georgia State University where he received the Dan Sweat Scholarship for Academic Excellence.
