Pregnant women are just about the most protected class of employees, and employers are typically poorly prepared to handle the “red tape” of administering pregnancy leaves and accommodation requests. This session explores the federal legal requirements, the impact of state-specific regulations, and the interplay with FMLA and ADA. We will review how to document pregnancy leaves and accommodations, benefits during leave, return to work and what to do if your employee doesn’t return as well as how to proceed if you have to terminate an employee during or after pregnancy leave. Learn practical, hand-on steps to minimize the potential for discrimination claims.
