While the I-9 has been in existence since 1987, many employers still consider it to be the most complicated employee onboarding form, with many inconsistent and unclear rules. At the same time, many employers are now also using the government’s E-Verify system, which has its own set of unique rules and requirements. How can you navigate this constantly changing landscape and remain compliant in the face of increasing government audits? This session examines recent I-9 penalty cases and E-Verify developments in order to highlight seven strategies to prevent common mistakes and create a culture of compliance.
