Current Employment-Based Immigration Issues

Workplace Application:
Participants will hear a government-led discussion of current issues in employment-based immigration, including USCIS’ efforts to address backlogs of pending cases, the impact of layoffs in the technology sector on foreign workers, employment-based immigrant visa processing, and other relevant updates for individuals and employers.
In this panel, we will discuss:
- USCIS’ efforts to reduce processing times and address backlogs;
- Lessons learned from the Administration’s effort to use all available employment-based immigrant visas in FY 2022 and what to expect for FY 2023;
- The immigration impact of recent layoffs at technology companies on foreign workers, such as H-1B visa holders, and what this means for employers; and
- Trends in CIS Ombudsman case assistance services and other issues of interest to employers.
