1.25 HR Credit | Competencies: Critical Evaluation
Workplace Application:
This presentation will enable you to revise your handbooks to eliminate express or implied contractual obligations.

This session will help you get the most out of your employee handbook while avoiding liability. Employee handbooks can be powerful tools for communicating policies to employees and supervisors and administering employee relations; however, they also can be a source of employment law liability. Weitzman will offer helpful advice on deciding what to include in (and delete from) your employee handbook. We will also discuss cutting-edge policies you should consider adding or revising, including those involving e-mail, voicemail, blogging, social networking, cell/camera phone and electronic communication policies; weapons and dress code policies; confidentiality polices; and many other new workplace regulations.
