1.25 HR Credit | Competencies: Critical Evaluation | Intended Audience: Mid-Level
Workplace Application:
This session will show you how to build a culture that values safety and injury prevention, and defines both as core components of their hiring and retention strategy.

It's not enough to just hire the right candidate; we must evaluate the job demands and develop core competencies with specific training milestones that help employees become successful. Managers must select, train and retain employees who are competent, productive and injury free. We will identify and define the root cause of why employees join your organization, get injured, leave and litigate. This session will provide a blueprint of how this core competency can be incorporated into every aspect of the hiring and retention cycle. You will learn how to evaluate employee competency, set realistic job demands, correct vague job descriptions, create a competency matrix based on realistic job expectations – and educate your management team to hire and retain based on core job competency.
