1.25 HR Credit | Competencies: Critical Evaluation
Workplace Application:
This session will review best practices to reduce unintended financial exposure resulting from common health plan administration practices.

Controlling health plan costs and financial exposure is difficult. However, you can easily address health plan compliance with federal laws by addressing the plan administration functions handled in your own office. For example, your plan administration functions usually include determining which employees and dependents are eligible and when coverage ends. When you fail to comply with applicable laws in performing these functions, the result may be significant and sometimes catastrophic. Learn about plan administration functions that are often carried out in-house and common practices that may result in financial exposure as well as what changes to current practices are needed to achieve best practices for compliance with federal requirements for health plans.
