The above was said to a COO. Care to guess the gender? She did not conform to the stereotype held by the speaker. Another micro-aggression: “You don’t sound black.” Worse yet, that was intended as a compliment. Micro-aggressions are painfully common and can result in macro-exclusions. Easy to say “that’s not right” in the abstract but how do you handle those comments “in the moment” when said to you or you hear it said to another? This presentation will show you how to respond and address micro-aggressions.

Jonathan has provided training to federal judges on various employment issues across the country for 20 years.


Jonathan testified before the Congressional Caucus for Women's Issues on how employers can prevent and respond to harassment in Male-Dominated Jobs.


Jonathan was appointed by the EEOC in 2015 to its Select Task Force on Harassment.
