A critical success factor in translating strategy into execution is to have a high degree of leadership capability that can turn abstract concepts into real and actionable outcomes. To do this, leaders first need to be able to define the outcomes that will deliver on the strategic objectives. Leaders then need to connect their existing bench strength and key work processes to these outcomes in order to determine performance gaps that will inhibit delivering these outcomes. Finally, leaders have to effectively communicate to their teams both what they need to do to deliver on the critical outcomes and why. By the end of this session, you will be able to articulate the differences between an objective and an outcome; develop outcomes tied to strategic objectives; and define critical outcomes you need to produce in your role as leader and translator.
