Review state and local employment laws from an HR perspective and receive recommendations to increase your effectiveness in terms of grassroots advocacy.
Though there may be gridlock at the federal level, there is a large amount of employment law action at the state and local level. This session focuses on state law trends, including bills that would make additional states right-to-work states; restrict employers’ rights to access social media sites; allow employees to bring weapons onto the premises of their employer; limit the right of employers to conduct credit and criminal background checks; expand the groups protected against discrimination; and provide paid and unpaid leave. Review current bills from an HR perspective and receive ten recommendations to increase your effectiveness in terms of grassroots advocacy.
