Maryam Jahanshahi, Ph.D. is the Co-founder and Head of R&D at Datapeople, an inbound recruiting platform that makes hiring more fair and efficient for everyone – starting with inclusive job posts. Maryam is interested in reducing bias in decision-making by using a combination of computational linguistics, machine learning, and behavioral economics methods. She gives talks on natural language processing, data science, and machine learning tools and particularly enjoys speaking about Datapeople’s research on the language of career documents and how skill sets in specific industries have changed in the last few years.

Maryam holds a Ph.D. from the Icahn School of Medicine at Mount Sinai and a B.A. and B.Sc. from the University of Melbourne
