Joseph (“Joe”) Beachboard is a nationally recognized employment lawyer who also closely tracks the most important developments at the U.S. Supreme Court impacting the business community. Jonathan is a partner at Duane Morris LLP in its Employment Group.  He also is the Founder and managing principal of the Duane Morris Institute, which provides training on employment issues to HR professionals, in-house counsel and other leaders.

The core of Jonathan’s practice is helping employers maximize legal compliance and minimize legal risk with regard to harassment, discrimination, retaliation and reasonable accommodations.
Over the past few years, Jonathan has focused on religion in general and antisemitism in particular. In addition to helping clients, Jonathan has delivered a number of talks on antisemitism on behalf of the EEOC as well as to field directors of the EEOC.
 
Jonathan has provided training to federal judges and other members of the federal judiciary on various employment issues for more than 20 years.

Since being sworn-in for his freshman term on January 5, 2011, Congressman Tim Scott has been an advocate for smaller government, lower taxes, and restoring fiscal responsibility. Scott was named to the House Rules Committee, asked to serve as a Deputy Whip and sits as one of two freshmen on the Elected Leadership Committee. Prior to being elected to Congress, Tim served on the Charleston County Council for 13 years, including four terms as Chair and in the South Carolina House of Representatives for two years where he was elected Chairman of the Freshman Caucus and House Whip.

Congressman Todd Russell Platts has worked with colleagues on both sides of the aisle on several major legislative initiatives. Platts was the lead Republican sponsor of legislation (H.R. 2142) signed into law in January 2011 designed to give Congress and the American people the tools to better evaluate the effectiveness of federal government programs. He was the lead Republican sponsor of legislation signed into law in June 2009 to give the Food and Drug Administration the authority to regulate tobacco products for the first time.  In 2007, Congressman Platts was the lead Republican sponsor of the first increase in fuel efficiency standards signed into law in over 30 years—decreasing our reliance on foreign oil and promoting environmental stewardship. In October 2004, President George W. Bush signed into law a bill sponsored by Congressman Platts to increase financial accountability standards at the U.S. Department of Homeland Security.  Congressman Platts is a strong advocate of a more open and efficient government, and has also advocated for legislation to make campaign finance laws more transparent, improving the Freedom of Information Act and providing protections for federal employees who report waste, fraud and abuse.
